Padrón Cigars
1964 Presidente Maduro 4 Pack
Size: 6x50 (box-pressed parejo)
Wrapper: Estate-Grown Nicaraguan Maduro aged over 4 years
Binder and Filler: Estate-Grown Nicaraguan aged over 4 years
WH Review (by Sam):
Cold draw: leather
1st Third: leathery and woodsy, like lacing up well-worn work boots and fetching the axe to fell a tree just a stone's throw from the cabin
2nd Third: fine wool and woodsy musk that is somehow both intimately familiar and so special, like hugging my grandpa on my sister's wedding day
Final Third: the juniper buzz of a gin martini beneath the rounder, sweeter sherry notes of dessert at the Minetta Tavern, washing down a buckwheat cake with mascarpone and lady fingers
Overall: how feeble I feel, writing this review... to attempt "tasting notes" as comparative descriptors is an exercise in futility with this cigar...
This is the finest cigar I've ever smoked. One that epitomizes my love of these ethereal experiences. Here one minute and gone the next and yet it lingers, reminiscent of so many such beautiful experiences of my life.
Spice: medium
Strength: medium-plus
Body: full
Combustion: slow-paced and even, downright beautiful
